What is an elopement wedding?? And why Dried Flowers make a perfect choice!
An elopement wedding is typically thought of as running off to get married without telling anyone, but over time the definition has definitely changed. Now and elopement wedding is about you wanting to have a slightly different wedding than the more traditional settings. It’s more important for an elopement wedding to be focused on celebrating with yourselves and a small gathering of loved one, potentially in a more minimal and casual setting.
Why Dried Flowers are a great choice for elopement weddings?
I often get asked about flower choices for elopement weddings and I always like to steer couples to dried blooms. They’re a great to travel with and you don’t need to worry as much about having to keep them alive along the way (especially if you’re getting married aboard). You could have Bouquets, buttonholes, dried flower crowns and other hair accessories as part of your arrangements made up. Dried flowers can travel with you as part of your hand luggage and if packaged well they won’t get damaged in transit.
So, what does that mean about the wedding venue?
The best bit about having an elopement wedding is that there are endless options as to where you actually have your ceremony. This is why lots of couples choose to elope in nature, in a city, public parks or even someone’s home or garden space. Couples in the UK quite often even choose aboard where the weather may be a little more predictable.
What about the guest list?
As the elopement is more about you as the couple, it means you get to really trim the guest list right down to just close friends and family. The advantage is when it’s really small you don’t feel as bad if some people you might normally feel obliged to invite can be taken straight off that list!
How do we choose the right florist for our elopement?
The right vendors is an important decision, whether you’re having a more traditional wedding or an elopement. You need to make sure your floral designer understands and knows your vibe and style. The flowers need to complement the space and definitely need to reflect a piece of you as the couple.
How does an elopement wedding differ in price?
Sometimes weddings can feel a little daunting when thinking about the cost. More traditional weddings typically have larger guest lists, which means a bigger venue, more catering and therefore grander décor. Elopement weddings can be a more affordable alternative, especially if the couple wants to put their funds towards the honeymoon instead.
