I hope you have a beautiful Mother’s Day…
I hope you find the beauty during this Mother’s Day, and may you know that you are loved!!
It’s so easy fall into the hype of commercial holidays without remembering the very reason for them… I went down a little rabbit hole in figuring out what the purpose of this day was originally for and found many answers.
‘Centuries ago it was considered important for people to return to their home or 'mother' church once a year. So each year in the middle of Lent, everyone would visit their 'mother' church - the main church or cathedral of the area.
Inevitably the return to the 'mother' church became an occasion for family reunions when children who were working away returned home. And most historians think that it was the return to the 'Mother' church which led to the tradition of children, being given the day off to visit their mother and family.
As they walked along the country lanes, children would pick wild flowers or violets to take to church or give to their mother as a small gift.’
I love that underneath it all the idea is to celebrate and reunite with family. A returning home (wherever home is to you) and being present with the ones you love.
I’m sure whether you pick a bunch of wildflowers from the roadside or buy a beautiful presented Mother’s day Bouquet from a florist near you. The idea is simple, show love and appreciation of someone who cared / still cares for you!
EverWild flowers and fresh bouquets this Mother’s day are genuinely made with love and with each one we will be thinking of all those precious mother figures our customers want to celebrate!
Pre-orders are still available until Monday 13th midday or feel free to pop into EverWild Flower Studio in Sneinton, Nottingham that weekend, Friday 17th or Saturday 18th to get yourself a wonderful bunch of Flowers for this special occasion.
